VERTILINK ATTENDS THE ICAO'S FIRST ADVANCED AIR MOBILITY SYMPOSIUM

SEPTEMBER 2024

VertiLink was thrilled to be invited by the AAM events team at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), to attend ICAO's first AAM symposium in Montreal, Canada from 9-12 September 2024.

This significant international event, the first of its kind, was attended by over 1600 participants from 193 ICAO member states across the Globe, and was a key indicator of the global demand for Advanced Air Mobility to be harmonised so that the benefits of this new sector can be realised throughout the world.

VERTILINK INVITED TO PRESENT AT THE AMERICAN VERTICAL FLIGHT SOCIETY'S 18TH ELECTRIC AIR SYMPOSIUM

JULY 2024

VertiLink is grateful to our friends at the US Vertical Flight Society (VFS) for their kind invitation to our Chief Executive, Charlie Nelson, to sit as a panellist at the 18th Electric Air Symposium between 19-21 July 2024 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. 

Charlie spoke to the vision that VertiLink has for Advanced Air Mobility integraition into New Zealand's aviation system, and the opportunity that this emerging sector presents to add value to the lives of New Zealanders.

FIRST ADVANCED AIR MOBILITY WORKING GROUP WORKSHOP

JANUARY 2024

VertiLink formally held New Zealand's first ever Advanced Air Mobility industry workshop.

The working group, made up of VertiLink staff, researchers and industry stakeholders, met on Wednesday 27th March 2024 at the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, to discuss the pathway for AAM sector development in Aotearoa. Conversations included the formation of an AAM sector Advisory Board, with the intention to provide sector subject matter expertise and support to both local and regional Government bodies. 

The workshop was presented by Jasmax Architects Head of Sustainability, Mr. Jerome Partington in conjunction with the Auckland University of Technology, and had leaders from Mana Whenua Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei and Tauranga Iwi Ngāi te Rangi, together with representatives from the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment, the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand, the New Zealand Airports Association, Hato Hone St. John, Christchurch International Airport Wisk Aero and US AAM companies Harper4D solutions, TruWeather solutions and the
Five-Alpha vertical flight society LLC.

TAURANGA MOANA SELECTED FOR NEW ZEALAND'S FIRST ADVANCED AIR MOBILITY RESEARCH PROGRAMME.

DECEMBER 2023

The VertiLink Infrastructure Group is delighted to announce the selection of Tauranga Moana as the location for New Zealand's first Advanced Air Mobility research programme.

With the full support of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi te Rangi Iwi Settlement Trust Chief Executive Mr. Paora Stanley, VertiLink will begin commencement of the first of its three phase strategic research programme in March of this year.

Research topics will focus on the benefits that an Advanced Air Mobility infrastructure network could provide to the region, and specifically, the region's remote communities. The programme will involve close collaboration with the communities on Matakana and Mōtiti Islands and underpin the development of a strategic network report to be delivered to the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) in Q1 of 2025.
